RZA is joining the force: The Wu-Tang Clan mastermind has landed a role in the Fox drama pilot Gang Related, where he'll play a cop on a gang task force in the San Francisco Police Department.

The show will star Ramon Rodriguez as Ryan Lopez, a gang member who infiltrates the department and seeks to rise through the ranks. RZA will play Cassisu, Lopez's friend and partner in the gang squad, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The cast also includes Jay Hernandez, Sung Kang and Inbar Lavi. Fast & Furious screenwriter Chris Morgan is penning the pilot, and will and executive-produce.

It's the latest role for RZA, who has appeared on the big screen in movies including American Gangster, Repo Men and, memorably, in Coffee and Cigarettes opposite Bill Murray. RZA also starred last year in The Man With the Iron Fists, which he wrote and directed.

RZA also told Rolling Stone last fall that Wu-Tang Clan release a new album this year to mark their 20th anniversary.
