Harrison Ford will return as the original space cowboy, Han Solo, in the new installments of the Star Wars franchise, according to Fox News Latino columnist Umberto "El Mayimbe" Gonzalez. The reporter said he "triple checked" his "legitimate sources," though they didn't seem to know whether Ford would simply make a cameo or if he'd have a larger part in the film.

Other cast members from the original Star Wars trilogy, including Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher, have also reportedly signed on to return as Luke Skywalker and Pricess Leia, in the forthcoming J.J. Abrams-directed film. Disney bought the Star Wars franchise from Lucasfilm last October for more than $4 billion and announced plans for three new films to be set after the original trilogy.

The next Star Wars movie, Episode VII, is currently being written by Oscar winner Michael Arndt and is set for release some time in 2015. In addition to a trio of films following the main story arc, Disney recently announced it would be making stand-alone films centered around various characters, potentially including Yoda or Boba Fett, the bounty hunter.

In a recent interview, Ewan McGregor, who played a young Obi-Wan Kenobi in Star Wars: Episodes I-III, said he'd be interested in making a spin-off about the Jedi master. He even suggested that the movie could follow Kenobi during his time on the desert planet Tatooine, before he starts training young Luke Skywalker to be a Jedi: "That might be my window, there, to tell that story," McGregor said. "I don't know what he did in the desert. We could make up some stuff."
