Henry Winkler will head to NBC this fall, appearing on Parks and Recreation as the father of Ben Schwartz's flamboyantly abrasive character Jean-Ralphio, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
So far, Winkler is set to appear in the show's Season Six premiere, which will take place in London when it airs on September 26th, and it's possible he could return in future episodes. This is the second member of the extended Jean-Ralphio family the show has presented, after introducing his conniving sister Mona-Lisa (played by Jenny Slate).
Winkler, who played the Fonz on Happy Days and, most recently, Barry Zuckerkorn on Arrested Development, is the second big name Parks has pulled for its upcoming season, with Kristen Bell set to portray uptight city councilwoman from neighboring Eagleton who first encounters Amy Poehler's character, Leslie Knope, at a high school basketball game (that episode is slated to air in October).
Parks and Recreation has scored a number of top notch guest spots in its past few seasons: Last year, Jason Schwartzman appeared as a snobby video store owner, while Jonathan Banks of Breaking Bad was cast as the father of Knope's then-fiancé, Ben Wyatt (Adam Scott). The show has also included a number of high-profile political cameos, including Newt Gingrich, Sens. John McCain, Olympia Snowe and Barbra Boxer, and even Knope's D.C. crush, Vice President Joe Biden.
