Nicki Minaj Leaving 'American Idol'

Judge follows Randy Jackson out the door

Nicki Minaj will follow Randy Jackson and leave American Idol after this season. Us Weekly reports that the rapper will focus on touring, business deals and her next album, and that she had only ever planned to judge a single season of the competition program.

Minaj joined the FOX reality show this season with fellow new judges Keith Urban and Mariah Carey. She has shared a strained relationship with Carey throughout her brief stint, and recently lashed out at the singer on Twitter.

Jackson, who has been with Idol since its debut in 2001, said last week that he's leaving the show after this season. Urban and Carey's fates haven't been announced, though reports indicate they'll depart, too.
