Larry David is set to star in and executive produce a new movie for HBO that Greg Mottola (Superbad) will direct, Entertainment Weekly reports.
There aren't a whole lot of details available, such as a title or an idea of what the movie is about. HBO has confirmed it is not a Curb Your Enthusiasm film.
Company executives added that the film will occupy David's efforts for HBO, meaning it might be a while before Curb returns for a ninth season.
"It means whatever [for Curb that] Larry wants it to mean," said HBO co-president Richard Plepler. "He has essentially carte blanche. When he wants [the show] to come back, we'll be thrilled."
It wouldn't be the first time Curb has returned after a multiple year hiatus: The show's eighth season, which aired last year, was its first since 2009.
"I don't think he's closed the door to another season of Curb," added HBO co-president Michael Lombardo.
