Lady Gaga to Make Acting Debut in 'Machete Kills'

Will play opposite Mel Gibson, Jessica Alba in upcoming sequel

Lady Gaga is set to make her acting debut in director Robert Rodriguez's upcoming film Machete Kills. Gaga will play La Chameleón, though details on the character are sparse.

Rodriguez confirmed the casting on Twitter, writing, "I just finished working with @LadyGaga on @MacheteKills, she kicked SO MUCH ASS! Holy Smokes. Blown away!" Gaga followed up on her own Twitter account, posting, "Yes its true, I will be making my debut as an actress in the amazing MACHETE KILLS BY @RODRIGUEZ IM SO EXCITED!!! AH! Filming was insane."

Machete Kills is a sequel to Rodriguez's 2010 film Machete and also stars Mel Gibson, Danny Trejo, Amber Heard, Jessica Alba, Sofia Vergara, Zoe Saldana, Charlie Sheen and more. It is scheduled for a 2013 release.
