'Jersey Shore' Packs Up After Six Seasons

MTV goes back where it all began with September 6th special

After taking the country by storm with gelled hair, colorful Ron Ron Juice and the life philosophy "Gym, Tan, Laundry," in late 2009, MTV has announced that the upcoming sixth season of Jersey Shore will be the show's last. MTV will show a retrospective special, Gym, Tan, Look Back, on September 6th before the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards, and the cast will unite at the awards pre-show to talk about the end of an era.

No need to go cold turkey, though: there's always the spinoff Snooki & JWoww. The final season of Jersey Shore premieres October 4th.
