After he picked up the Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series at Sunday night's awards show – besting Breaking Bad's Bryan Cranston and Mad Men's Jon Hamm – The Newsroom's Jeff Daniels was ready to open up about his next, highly anticipated project: a Dumb and Dumber sequel with Jim Carrey.
When asked backstage what he considered the scariest thing about delving back into the classic comedy nearly 20 years later, he was full of confidence. "We're going to do things in Dumb and Dumber To that make the [original] toilet scene look lame – pales in comparison," he said. "I can't divulge what [the new scenes are], just that they've topped it."
As for the best thing about reprising his role? "I get to work with a comedic genius" – who is, of course, co-star Carrey.
Dumb and Dumber To is set for release next year to coincide with the 20th anniversary of the original.
