HBO Renews 'Game of Thrones' for Fourth Season

Third season premiere draws record ratings for fantasy series

Just two days after Game of Thrones kicked off its third season, HBO announced that the fantasy epic will return for a fourth.

This past Sunday's premiere drew record ratings, hitting a series high of 4.4 million viewers, an increase of 13 percent from the first episode of Season Two. Across three airings, the third season premiere notched a total of 6.7 million viewers.
