Glee: The 3D Concert Movie tanked at the box office this weekend, grossing only $5.7 million to debut at Number 11. Though the movie is likely to recoup its $9 million budget, the weak performance suggests that excitement for the Glee franchise may be waning.

The film, which documented the cast of the television show on their summer arena tour, was slammed by critics such as Rolling Stone's Peter Travers, but received a strong CinemaScore rating from moviegoers. This should come as no surprise, though, as only hardcore Glee fanatics were likely to turn up to any of the screenings.
