'Girls' Casts Michael Zegen for Season Three

'Boardwalk Empire' actor joins Lena Dunham's HBO comedy

Girls has picked up a new cast member for its upcoming third season. Boardwalk Empire's Michael Zegen has joined Lena Dunham's HBO comedy, according to Deadline.com, though the network is staying mum so far about his role on the show.

'Girls' Season Two's Biggest WTF Moments

Zegen could be filling the gap left by actor Christopher Abbott, who played Charlie on the show. Abbott left Girls in April, allegedly over creative differences with Dunham. Fans were notably disappointed by his departure, but Allison Williams – who plays Charlie's love interest, Marnie – felt confident in the future direction of her character and the show.
