Charlie Sheen is set to play the president in director Robert Rodriguez's sequel to Machete, according to the Hollywood Reporter. Rodriguez announced on Twitter, "I just cast Charlie Sheen in #machetekills as the President of the United States! Who better? More soon . . ." with Sheen retweeting the post. A representative for Sheen confirmed that the two are in talks over the role.
Danny Trejo, Jessica Alba, Mel Gibson, Amber Heard, Sofia Vergara and Zoe Saldana are among those set for the Machete sequel. Sheen's new TV series, Anger Management, will premiere on FX on June 28th. This won't be the first time a Sheen has played the President – Charlie's father, Martin Sheen, previously played the Commander in Chief on The West Wing.
