After delaying production due to her pregnancy last year, Beyoncé has dropped out of Clint Eastwood's planned remake of A Star Is Born, Variety reports. Sources say the singer's schedule has become too complicated without a scheduled start date. Beyoncé was set to reprise Barbra Streisand's role in the 1976 version as a young, up-and-coming performer who falls for an older star. Eastwood has approached Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom Cruise, Christian Bale, Johnny Depp and Bradley Cooper for the male lead, but has yet to cast anyone.
The film was set to enter production last year, before Beyoncé's pregnancy and Eastwood's role on Trouble With the Curve led to postponements. Beyoncé is still active on the film front – she's directing a new autobiographical documentary and is set to star in the upcoming animated film Epic.
