4. 'The Incredibles'
The early Pixar movies focus on toys, bugs, monsters and fish for a very simple reason: Animating people that don't look phony is very difficult. There's something about their eyes that look lifeless no matter how much work you put into it. In 2004 Pixar finally took on the challenge with The Incredibles, which is about a family with super powers that attempt to lead normal lives. Animation had come a long way by this point and they pulled it off, though they were helped along by a very clever story. A sequel has been announced, but there's no release date at this point and will probably be 2020 at the earliest. Pixar play a long game.
