7. 'Monsters, Inc'
Nearly every kid fears that a monster lurks somewhere in his or her closet, or under the bed. Monsters, Inc. has the rather brilliant premise that the monsters are real, but they're actually gentle creatures terrified of kids. It's their job to travel to the world of human beings and scare them during the night, but children are actually poisonous so they avoid touching them at all costs. When a little girl wanders through a portal and enters Monstropolis, all hell breaks loose. The film hit theaters less than two months after 9/11 and was a big hit. A prequel came in 2013 that earned even more money, so don't be shocked if a third chapter comes at some point in the near future.
