24. 'Denis Leary: No Cure for Cancer' (1992)

Long before he was the resident middle-aged-crank everyman of the FX network, Denis Leary was working his aggressive, alpha-dude act on stages across the nation. Puff-puff-puffing away at cigarettes pinched between his thumb and forefinger, Leary embraces his self-proclaimed "asshole" mantle and attacks cultural sensitivities with the unapologetic, regular-guy belligerence of Morton Downey Jr. The Bostonian stand-up has no patience for the gripes of non-smokers and vegetarians ("eggplant tastes like eggplant, but meat tastes like murder and murder tastes pretty damn good"), and rails against the cosmic injustice of the good dying young and the bad living forever.
