Bill Murray Makes His Comic-Con Debut

Every year brings a few first-timers to the Con, but this one was special. Not always the most publicity-friendly fellow, Bill Murray rocked the room in his SDCC debut by coming down the long Hall H center aisle to the sounds of Deep Purple's "Smoke on the Water" pumping from the P.A. Murray appeared in costume as Richie Lanz, the burned-out rock manager from his upcoming comedy, Rock the Kasbah. Joining the panel alongside writer Mitch Glazer, the star/prankster was funny, engaging, warm and enthusiastic — everything one hopes when a star of his stature enters the sometimes daunting environs of Comic-Con. Glad to have you aboard, Bill. DK
