Meet Our Round-Two Contest Finalists!
Like capoeira or shotgunning beers, interviewing stars looks a lot easier than it is. This week’s competition, in which we asked you to identify the band or artist you’d like to interview most and come up with ten stellar interview questions was a deceptively simple task. After all, being a good interviewer requires more than a fan’s enthusiasm and knowledge. Here, find the twenty brave folks whose questions dazzled us most, for their artist-specific knowledge, creativity, sense of humor and cajones. We’ll announce the winner on Wednesday, so be sure to check back and see who scored a First Act SFA Edition Lola CE120 guitar and a Rhapsody Sansa. Didn’t make the final cut? No worries, we’ll have a brand new assignment for you on Monday, and you know what they say: If you don’t succeed, mutter curse words under your breath and try again.

you guys suck. this show sucks. RS sucks. Mayer sucks. This is not rock journalism, it’s idiots staring at the shadows on the wall and telling them how great they are. Gleason would be furious at the tainting of his legacy you “journalists” apply to appeal to the kids who watch ET. SAD.

These questions are so lame. Oh wait, so is Rolling Stone. I have a question…this one for the editor of the magazine…when can we expect another article about Justin Timberlake’s favorite places to eat in Phoenix? Who gives a flying f***!

Chris G, it could have something to do with: “i dont understand why mine didnt get chosen, its just as good as any of these in my oppinion.”

10 questions for the finalists of the “I’m From Rolling Stone” show:
1. Who is Ralph Gleason?
2. How many times did you actually pitch or contact Rolling Stone before landing this gig?
3. Why do you guys treat the job of writing a 750 word article on the roots or band of horses like it was a thesis on quantum physics?
4. How many times did you actually cringe at yourself after watching the show on TV?
5. Are you cognizant of the fact that having a crazy “reality TV” personality does not make you a true rock journalist?
6. Have you actually ever read a copy of Rolling Stone from their first 10 years of print?
7. What must David Fricke think of the lot of ya?
8. How many times do you think I turned to my girlfriend tonight and asked her “What the fuck?” throughout the 22 minutes of watching “I’m From Rolling Stone”?
9. What book other than Fear and Loathing In Las Vegas have you read from Hunter S. Thompson?
10. Who is Ralph Gleason?

MY QUESTIONS DIDNT MAKE IT…I THOUGHT THEY WERE GOOD!!
1. Your 3rd studio album titled Graduation is set to release in late 2007, what can fans expect on this album?
2. Will the highly awaited track “Bittersweet” which features John Mayer be on this album?
3. Sa-Ra, a group signed to your record label G.O.O.D (Getting Out Our Dreams) Music has separated. How has that affected all the other artists on your label?
4. How did it feel to be a rapper opening for legendary rock bands such as The Rolling Stones and U2?
5.I’ve had the opportunity to see you perform at small venues and big arenas, which do you prefer?
6. You posed as Jesus for the cover of Rolling Stones, were you prepared to handle the controversy of all those who labeled the cover blasphemous, as opposed to a work of art?
7. Many believe you are responsible for the truce of long time hip hop rivals Jay-Z and Nas. Do you feel you get enough credit for it?
8. You are currently working on a reality series with HBO, is acting a career you want to eventually pursue?
9. When can we expect to see your clothing line Pastelle in stores?
10. How often do you check your myspace account?

to travis hawkes wow, deep questions that i would definitely like answered!
Chrys | 1/19/2007, 10:23 pm EST
I would have liked to see that, I love The Who.
sixie | 1/19/2007, 10:06 pm EST
My interview was Pete Townshend and Roger Daltrey. No chance of significance in the Rolling Stone world . . But Pete’s new album is more pure than britney’s behind and much more pleasant to listen to… Sixie

Suck it up! Just because you didn’t make it through, it doesn’t mean that the people that did don’t deserve it.
The Real Crystal | 1/19/2007, 7:48 pm EST
I thought that RHCP was a perfectly good band to ask some deep profile questions to. Maybe mine just werent that good. YEAH, two oh John Meyer? uhhh
The Real Crystal | 1/19/2007, 7:45 pm EST
Wow, some of these people really know how to ask a good question. It really annoys me when people try to sound smarter than they are and go on and on about how much they think they know and then ask some totally unrelated question. also, some of these people really suck! what the hell RS?
Dare To Hear A Fool | 1/19/2007, 7:39 pm EST
two finalists that interviewed john mayer, you gotta be kidding me! i dont understand why mine didnt get chosen, its just as good as any of these in my oppinion. i just think that you guys dont like bright eyes…you only seem to care about them when its convenient for you
