Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite, the eighth game in the popular fighting series, was revealed with a teaser trailer today at the PlayStation Experience in Anaheim. It will be released late 2017. According to the PlayStation Blog, Infinite will not just focus on multiplayer competitive play, as it will include "single player arcade, training and mission modes," and "a visually stunning and immersive cinematic story mode will put players at the center of both universes as they battle for supremacy against powerful forces and a new villain." That said, the online multiplayer features will be extensive, including ranked and casual matches, global leaderboards, online lobbies and a spectator mode.
It’s been five years since Marvel vs. Capcom 3 was released for Xbox 360 and PS3, and Sony revealed that the Ultimate edition of that game is available again exclusively on PS4 starting today. An extended trailer showing real Infinite gameplay footage will be shown during the Capcom Cup tournament broadcast on ESPN tomorrow night.
