'South Park: Phone Destroyer' is a Smorgasbord of a Mobile Game

Confirmed genre: mobile card collection real-time battle game

'South Park: The Phone Destroyer' from Ubisoft

South Park: Phone Destroyer looks like what would happen if you took the turn-based RPG battle system from the mainline South Park RPGs, and added cards to it – judging from the brief look from the trailer, anyway. It's also free-to-play. Per Ubisoft: "The game is designed so that nothing is ever locked behind a paywall. Everything in the game is available to all players as they progress, whether they choose to spend real-world money or not."

The game features fake Facetime calls with Cartman, signature South Park humor, and it lets you battle against a whole bunch of different factions including wizards, cowboys, buccaneers, knights, princesses, aliens and pigeons.

Phone Destroyer is currently in soft launch in Denmark, Finland, Norway, and Sweden. No word yet on a wider release, but Ubisoft is saying that it's this year.
