The Game Awards 2016 kicks off tonight in Los Angeles, where you can expect to see a bunch of announcements and sexy new trailers in between the congratulatory back-slapping. We'll have a highlights article tomorrow and you can watch the event here at 5:30pm PST today.

If you just can't get enough hidden blade action there's an Assassin's Creed movie VR experience out today for the Oculus Video app (on both Oculus Rift and Samsung Gear VR) and as a 360 video on Facebook. The movie itself, starring Michael Fassbender, is out on December 21.

Gamer charity Child's Play just started its 2016 holiday fundraising drive. It includes an auction for a life-sized Iron Battle Axe replica from Destiny. To find out how you can contribute to its important work for children at hospitals and domestic violence shelters visit the official site.

Finally there's a new trailer for the latest content for Star Wars Battlefront. The DLC is, of course, inspired by the upcoming movie and features new maps and characters Jyn Erso and Orson Krennic. It'll be released on December 6.
