Although originally expected to be debuted at Star Wars Celebration in Orlando this weekend, the first 30 second teaser trailer for Star Wars Battlefront 2 has leaked this evening.
As expected, it would appear that the new game will include a narrative-based campaign mode, and interestingly it seems that it tells the story from an Imperial perspective, set after the destruction of the second Death Star at the end of Return of the Jedi. Whether this is the only story that the campaign deals with, or if it's just one of several stories like the vignettes in Battlefield 1 remains to be seen.
As we'd hoped, it seems the multiplayer game will feature content from all Star Wars eras – the teaser showing both Darth Maul from the prequel trilogy and Kylo Ren alongside the original trilogy content that picks up on Endor. The trailer notes that heroes from this year's Star Wars: The Last Jedi will be available as a pre-order bonus.
There'll be more details this coming weekend.
