See 'Simpsons' Episode 'King-Size Homer' Reimagined as 16-bit Game

"This is my tribute to one of my favorite Simpsons episodes ever"

Mauri Helme

'King-Size Homer' of one of the most popular episodes of The Simpsons and Brazilian artist Mauri Helme decided to honor it with this video. "This is my tribute to one of my favorite Simpsons episodes ever, 'King-Size Homer,'" he says. "It's a pixel art animation as if there were a 16-bit game starring Homer and his muumuu."

In the episode Homer tries to qualify to work from home by gaining the 61 pounds he needs to reach 300 and qualify as disabled. The scene Helme has adapted is from a dream Homer has about reaching his goal.

Helme also turned the Star Wars: The Force Awakens teaser trailer into an 8-bit art work. When's he not making viral magic for YouTube he runs his own studio in São Paulo. The studio recently created a 16-bit Patriot game for Amazon to publicize the new show.
