NetherRealm's Injustice 2 is adding a new gear system that will let players collect and equip items that affect the abilities of each hero and villain. Today's new trailer for the upcoming fighting game, due May 16 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, goes into detail about how this system will work.
Gear in Injustice 2 will modify four different key stats: strength, ability, defense and health, plus it will also provide other perks, like the ability to earn more in-game currency or reduce damage received. As you win more fights, more specialized gear is introduced, giving you more flexibility to mix and match items. You also stand to receive additional perks when wearing full sets of a specific type of gear.
While the trailer explains plenty about what the new system entails, what it doesn't fully describe is what you'll actually have to do to unlock all the loot. How we'll be grinding Injustice 2 is yet to be revealed, although the trailer does note that "with every fight there's the promise of reward," which hints that all bouts in the game stand the chance to yield something.
