A journey through haircuts and angst that started in 1987

Epic Japanese RPG series Final Fantasy turned 30 this year, and today Square Enix released a montage of moments from the games to mark the occasion.

The video starts in 1987 and goes all the way up to the most recent release, the bromance brimming Final Fantasy XV starring angst prince Noctis. It's pretty amazing to see how the series has evolved over the years and perfect for a game of lunch break "what was her name again?"

Square Enix also asked fans to share their Final Fantasy memories on Twitter with the hashtag #FF30th
