The Games We Can't Wait to Play Next

From the next 'Mass Effect' to a rebooted 'Resident Evil,' the first chunk of 2017 is looking anything but quiet

Horizon: Zero Dawn

Dutch studio Guerilla Games, evidently tired of keeping the also-ran Killzone franchise alive, has pulled a complete 180 with Horizon: Zero Dawn, an action role-playing game set in a gonzo prehistoric realm populated by massive mechanical dinosaurs. You play Aloy, a hunter and archer fighting back against the machines in a vast, open world that seems hellbent on evoking the grandeur of games like Skyrim and The Witcher 3. Aloy packs a high-tech bronze age arsenal, and she can also hack some of the machines to do her bidding. It’s as if Far Cry Primal met Deus Ex. It'll be exciting to see if it works.
