23. The Wonderful 101 (2013)
There are other games that let you control a team of heroes, but The Wonderful 101 gave you a rolling swarm of them, a tumbling shapeable mass. They could become a bridge or a ladder, a sword or a bazooka, some shapes useful when solving puzzles and others when bashing aliens. Drawing lines across the Wii U gamepad to tease the mass of heroes into a claw or a whip wasn't always as responsive as it could have been, but when it worked it felt like nothing else.
