Comix Zone (1995)

21. Comix Zone (1995)

Comix Zone was very Nineties, from its mutant enemies to the hero's board shorts and ponytail. That hero was an artist trapped in his own comic, able leap from panel to panel, rip up the pages to find secrets, and even tear paper off to make deadly paper planes. Each level was two pages of post-apocalyptic comic across which Sketch Turner – yeah, that was his name – solved puzzles, fought aliens, and occasionally powered up into Super Sketch. The layouts of comics made excellent substitutes for beat-em-up levels.
