Nintendo Switch Games: the Good, the Bad, and the Weird

We played a bunch of the Switch's games. Here are the ones that stood out

Nintendo

Puyo Puyo Tetris

In the middle of all this excitement about new Nintendo games, another entry in the Tetris franchise probably doesn't seem all that necessary. But Puyo Puyo Tetris is amazing. The game has been out in Japan since 2014, and honestly I understand why Sonic Team were reluctant to release it internationally. Puyo Puyo Tetris will melt your brain. Yes, you can play Puyo Puyo and you can play Tetris, but you can also play a dangerous fusion mode, which forces you to play Puyo Puyo and Tetris on the same board at the same time. Both games use their own rules, so you can only eliminate Tetris blocks by lining them up horizontally, and you can only knock out Puyo Puyo blobs by matching color. It's ridiculous, and I got destroyed. It's like a biathlon of puzzle games, and personally I'm excited to see it in the hands of someone far more capable than I am.
