6. Donkey Kong: Barrel Blast
Given that you can already play as Donkey Kong in Mario Kart, a Donkey Kong kart racer needs to set itself apart somehow. On the Gamecube, that meant using the bongo controllers instead of a boring old gamepad. Barrel Blast was designed as another of those – tapping on one bongo to turn in that direction, pounding out a rhythm on both to accelerate forward – but at the last minute it was released on the Wii instead. A clumsy switch to Wiimote waggle controls made Barrel Blast one of too many games about shaking your fists erratically to win.
