8 Things You Need to Know from Ubisoft's E3 2017 Show

From 'Assassin's Creed Origins' to new multiplayer pirate game 'Skull & Bones' and a mobile 'South Park' spin-off game

Starlink: Battle for Atlas

Another surprise announcement from Ubisoft today was its toys-to-life, open world, sci-fi combat and exploration game Starlink: Battle for Atlas. It may look a little bit like No Man's Sky (without the procedurally generated environments), but the big hook with this one is the contraption that bolts onto your game controller and lets you assemble and customize real-world toy starships. Each part attached to the ship appears instantly in-game and players can experiment with different pilot abilities, weapon types, and status effects. There's no word yet on how the toy element of the game will be distributed or priced, but it seems like we'll be seeing a number of different modular ships that come with pilots and an assortment of weapons that can all be hotswapped to mix things up. The game is coming to Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 late next year.
