34. Super Mario Run
Mario on… mobile? Yes, making this iOS newcomer the first Mario platformer for a non-Nintendo format in nearly three decades. (It’s bound for Android next year, too.) The side-scrolling auto-runner features six playable favorites, and packs in all the character you expect from Luigi, Yoshi and company, while happily toying with challenges familiar from much older games in the series. It's $10 to unlock the full game – that's 24 levels, plus a "Kingdom Builder" that has you building a town to unlock bonus levels, and the competitive "Toad Rally" where you grind through levels against the ghosts of other players in an attempt to pull off the fastest, most stylish run.
