Who watches the watchmen? In the fictional modern-day surveillance state Orwell presents, it's "a supervisor with no grasp of context." It's a game about digitally spying on suspected terrorists and uploading relevant portions of their chatlogs and personal information to your boss, then watching in horror as he misinterprets it. A suspect jokes about stealing her boyfriend's credit card; the supervisor has the card canceled. What do you show this blunt instrument of the state? What if the wrong person gets arrested? Orwell highlights how the overwhelming amount of data the Internet gives us doesn't necessarily make us any more understanding.
