2. Sitting down in the cockpit of an X-wing
Even today, simply sitting down in an Atari Star Wars arcade unit just feels right. It may lack the immersive features of the modern-day Battle Pod it probably inspired, but once you've assumed battle position – that amazingly crafted flight yoke nestled in your hands – there's no denying that you're Luke Skywalker en route to destroying the Death Star…possibly several times over the course of just a few minutes. The digitized speak like Obi-Wan's "use the Force, Luke" never grows old. Nor does shooting down TIE fighters, whose vector-based graphics prove there's art in simplicity. These sure aren't the visuals you see in EA's Battlefront…but in some ways they're every bit as beautiful.
