Faker wins his third 'League of Legends' World Championship

On October 29, SK Telecom T1 became the first team to win three League of Legends World Championships. This victory, 3-2 over Samsung Galaxy, cemented SKT midlaner Lee "Faker" Sang-hyeok as the greatest League of Legends player of all time, and perhaps the greatest player in all of esports. Comparisons to Michael Jordan, already rampant, flew with renewed gusto from all corners of the web. But if Faker's triumph was noteworthy, the event's viewership numbers were mind-blowing. The World Championships peaked at 14.7 million concurrent viewers. Over the course of the event, 43 million unique human beings tuned in. That's more than the population of Canada.
