Find out More About Kumail Nanjiani's 'Mass Effect: Andromeda' Role

'Silicon Valley' star plays a suck-up salarian called Jarun Tann

Bioware

Bioware has finally given us a look at the alien crew member that Silicon Valley's Kumail Nanjiani will play in its massive space RPG, Mass Effect: Andromeda. As suggested by an earlier tease about a "space frog," the character is a salarian and called Jarun Tann.

"He really think he's a big deal but every now and then you see the insecurity behind it," says Nanjiani.

Salarians are an amphibious race from the planet Sur'Kesh. They're the super brains of space, known for their tech and invention skills and quick thinking. Salarian Mordin Solus was a major character in Mass Effect 2 and 3

"What I love about Mass Effect is it's morally very vague, it's hard to know what the right thing to do is," says Nanjiani. "Playing the first three game is my favorite gaming experience of my whole life so it's really pretty amazing to be a part of it."

Joining Nanjiani in Mass Effect: Andromeda are Natalie Dormer and Gethin Anthony, both of who recently starred in Game Of Thrones.

Mass Effect: Andromeda will be released on March 21.
