Jennifer Lopez's role as celebrity judge on American Idol has certainly renewed her popularity on the charts – and it's also rekindled fashion's interest in her, too. Her sheer, swooping, cleavage-carving Zuhair Murad Oscar gown created waves on Twitter feeds and among the E! crowd, harkening back to her glory days as a Versace-clad red carpet sensation. Now, she's on the April cover of Vogue for the second time in her career.
Since the Vogue spread debuted, rumors have spread that she'll also star as the main performer at this year's MET Costume Institute Gala, the yearly museum fundraiser/fashion blowout for which Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour serves as a co-chair. So far, Vogue is denying the rumors that Lopez will play. Previously, internet buzz favored the rumor that March's cover girl, Adele, would provide the evening's entertainment.
The Gala prides itself on aligning with the hottest contemporary musical stars. Previous performers include Florence and the Machine, Lady Gaga, Rihanna and Kanye West.
