Guitar Collection: George Harrison, a new iPad app providing a tour of the late Beatle's extensive collection of instruments, will be released on February 23rd, two days before what would have been the rocker's 69th birthday. The app, which was developed by Harrison's son Dhani, is currently in use at the Grammy Museum's George Harrison: Living in the Material World exhibit, allowing users to learn about the history and use of all of his guitars.

Unlike the museum version, the iPad app includes a video section featuring footage of various musicians, including Ben Harper, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers' Mike Campbell and Queens of the Stone Age's Josh Homme, playing the guitars. There is also a section in which Dhani discusses a few of the instruments with Conan O'Brien.

The app will be on sale for $9.99. You can get a preview of it in the video below.
