Bjork Selling Pussy Riot T-Shirts on Website

All proceeds benefit group's legal fees and keeping their children out of foster care

Following last week's sentencing of two years in prison for Pussy Riot, support for the Russian punks continues to flow in. Björk is now selling Pussy Riot t-shirts on her website, with all proceeds going toward the group's legal costs and preventing their children from being sent to foster care, as Pitchfork reports. The shirts come in black and white and are £20 each.

The Icelandic musician – who recently dedicated a performance of her 2008 track "Declare Independence" to Pussy Riot – is one of many artists to speak out in support of the jailed band. Others include Paul McCartney, the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Sting. Madonna wrote recently on her website, "Even if one disagrees with the location or how they chose to express themselves, the sentence is too harsh and in fact is inhumane. I call on all those who love freedom to condemn this unjust punishment."

In an out-of-the-box showing of support that PunkNews revealed, a group of Estonian programmers have put together an Angry Birds-like game titled Angry Kremlins, which allows users to fling the heads of Russian authorities – chief among them Vladimir Putin – at towers protecting balaclava-wearing Pussy Rioters.
