MTV has announced that Beavis and Butt-Head will be returning to the network with all-new episodes later this year. Mike Judge's animated series about two extraordinarily dumb teens obsessed with metal, fire and attempting to score chicks originally aired on the network between 1993 and 1997.

Aside from confirming that the show is coming back, MTV has offered no further details about this incarnation of Beavis and Butt-Head. Mike Judge's involvement in the new series is unclear, though it seems likely that he will once again provide the voice of both characters.
The original Beavis and Butt-Head series was mainly focused on the boys sitting on a couch offering lowbrow but often incredibly insightful commentary on music videos. Assuming that this will still be a feature of the show, it should be a lot of fun to find out what the boys make of contemporary video icons such as Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber and Kanye West.
