Andrews was charged with assault with a deadly weapon and unlawful possession of a firearm when he allegedly pointed a handgun at his girlfriend's head during an argument, which she told authorities started after she accused him of cheating. Police later recovered a Glock .45-caliber handgun they believe was used in the dispute. Charges were dropped in March of 2009 after the victim refused to testify against him in court; months prior, Andrews had also been found with a half-pound of marijuana and $6,808 in cash, and pleaded guilty.
