Patterson Hood and Mike Cooley of the Southern rock band Drive-By Truckers came by the Rolling Stone office recently to play stripped-down acoustic versions of three songs – "Everybody Needs Love," "Used To Be A Cop" and "Pulaski" – from their new album Go-Go Boots. After the set, Hood and Cooley discussed their long history playing together before forming Drive-By Truckers, and the importance of storytelling in their songs.
