In this skit from Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein's hilarious IFC comedy series Portlandia, the Shins' James Mercer, the Decemberists' Colin Meloy and Brownstein's Sleater-Kinney bandmate Corin Tucker turn up to portray the glamorous fictional indie band Echo Echo. The group attempt to check in to the impossibly hip Deuce Hotel in the bit – but don't count seeing any of the usual clichés about rock stars and hotel rooms.
