Mavis Staples Spreads the Gospel on Conan

Mavis Staples has had a very good year. In September the former Staples Singer vocalist released You Are Not Alone, which she recorded with Wilco's Jeff Tweedy. It won a Grammy for Best Americana Album. She also sang for Paul McCartney at the Kennedy Center honors, and for Jon Stewart at the Rally to Restore Sanity.

Last night the soul legend played the traditional gospel song "Creep Along Moses," which she cut for You Are Not Alone, on Conan. She's in the middle of a world tour right now that's bringing her everywhere from Meridian, Mississippi to Fremantle, Australia.
