Sony's Waterproof Walkman

Rather than pile on fancy technical innovations, Sony’s new wearable, water-resistant Walkman W260 series MP3 player instead offers fitness buffs the option to rinse off sweat and grime.

Lightweight headphones with a digital music player built in, models further promise up to eight hours of battery life, including quick charge options that restore an hour of juice with just three minutes of charging.

Designed for use in daily workouts, the single one-piece units weigh 24% less and measure roughly a third smaller than previous Walkman W Series options, making them suitable for rocking out at the gym. Capable of syncing with Windows Media Player and iTunes, bundled software lets you drag and drop DRM-free songs right onto the device.

Offered in black and white, 2GB (NWZ-W262) units will and 4GB (NWZ-W263) units will cost $59.99 and $79.99, respectively, when they ship in August. But the option to remove that post-treadmill stink will no doubt be priceless.
