New Mobile App Claims to Predict the Next President

Along with wacky candidates, smear campaigns and YouTube ads going viral for all the wrong reasons, the Presidential election cycle brings more vital data than the average voter can digest. US Election Race 2012, a new app available in the iTunes App Store, gathers all the necessary information and delivers it to the palm of your hand in an easy-to-follow interface.

The app aggregates the latest opinion polls, Twitter feeds and betting markets to paint a picture of America's political sentiments. US Election Race 2012 is also a scoreboard to the White House, tracking which candidate has the lead in each state along with information about historical voting trends, current electoral vote count and swing states.

Developed by Grand Parade, previously responsible for making an iPad version of a sports betting magazine, US Election 2012 has a bigger outcome at stake. Along with near-instant exit poll data, this app is another example of how technology is making Presidential elections more transparent than ever. The app can even be used by the politically savvy to predict the next President. (Now, if only they'd come up with an American Idol equivalent.)

US Election Race 2012 is not the only Presidential scorekeeper in the iTunes store. In December, the New York Times released an app delivering news updates from the paper's political blogs and other news outlets. Twatcher's 2012 Election edition app tracks all the Twitter feeds of all the Presidential hopefuls.
