See Miranda Lambert's Lively 'Highway Vagabond' on 'Colbert'

Song is a standout of Lambert's new double album 'The Weight of These Wings'

Miranda Lambert performed "Highway Vagabond" on 'The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.'

In "Highway Vagabond," Miranda Lambert expresses a desire to hit the road, living like a hippie. That wish got the country superstar as far as The Late Show With Stephen Colbert on Tuesday night. Dressed in a Southwestern-style jacket draped with red fringe, Lambert looked the part of the title character from one of the standout tracks on her sprawling two-record set, The Weight of These Wings.

Looking positively buoyant throughout the performance, it's safe to say that road life agrees with the singer. That's a good thing, since Lambert's Highway Vagabond Tour, with special guests Old Dominion and Aubrie Sellers, will keep Lambert roaming, as the song says, from "town to town like Willie did when he was a kid, on the road again."

The second single from the LP, "We Should Be Friends," hit country radio this week. It follows "Vice," which reached Number Two. The Wight of These Wings became Lambert's sixth consecutive album to hit Number One when it was released last month.
