UPDATE: Zac Brown Band have canceled the 2017 edition of the Southern Ground Music and Food Festival, scheduled for May 20th and 21st in Charleston, South Carolina. The group's Welcome Home Tour will begin as scheduled on May 12th.

Zac Brown Band will spend the early months of 2017 playing shows overseas in Europe and Australia, with the odd US festival date sprinkled in here and there. But in May, they'll return to their default status as road warriors with the North American Welcome Home Tour, which also happens to the title of their forthcoming album.

The Welcome Home Tour gets underway May 12th with a show at Atlanta's Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre at Encore Park, running more than 40 dates before wrapping up in late October. Included on the trek are stadium bills at Denver's Coors Field on July 29th and Chicago's Wrigley Field on August 26th, plus numerous festival dates such as WeFest in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota and the Buckeye Country Superfest in Columbus, Ohio. Dates appear below.

The tour coincides with the May 12th release of the group's fifth full-length album Welcome Home, which frontman Brown previously noted would be a return "straight back to our roots, Foundation-style." The band's previous album, Jekyll + Hyde, saw them branching out into many new styles and sounds, incorporating jazzy pop, EDM-influenced rave-ups and hard rock in the Chris Cornell-assisted "Heavy Is the Head" along with their usual breezy country. In the time between albums, Brown has indulged his more experimental, pop-leaning side with the trio Sir Rosevelt, which released a video for "Sunday Finest" in September.

Zac Brown Band will also curate and perform at the annual Southern Ground Music and Food Festival May 20th and 21st in Charleston, South Carolina. In addition to two headlining performances from the band that feature sit-in guests, the culinary and musical gathering always assembles an eclectic lineup of artists that has previously included Kacey Musgraves, Thomas Rhett, Michael Franti & Spearhead and Bruce Hornsby.
