Watch Keith Urban, Harry Connick Jr.'s Nimble Blues Jam

Former 'American Idol' judges reunite on Connick's daytime talk show, 'Harry'

Keith Urban and Harry Connick Jr. take a few minutes to jam on the set of 'Harry.'

Nearly one year after American Idol's final episode, judges Keith Urban and Harry Connick Jr. are finding new ways to share the TV spotlight.

Urban made a guest appearance on Harry yesterday, joining Connick on his daytime talk show. The two friends kept things musical, squeezing into the same sport jacket for a "solo duet" – a goofy gimmick that found them playing the same acoustic guitar – and teaming up with Harry's house band for a loose, largely improvised blues jam. "I already forgot the groove!" Urban admitted to the audience, seconds before Connick ordered him to kick off the latter performance. Then, with a flurry of piano chords and Telecaster riffage, the two launched into a 12-bar blues, backed by multiple horn players and percussionists. Watch the performance below.

After spending much of last year on the ripCORD World Tour, Urban is enjoying a comparatively leisurely spring, with a handful of festival dates and state fair gigs keeping him busy through the late summer. Connick, on the other hand, is staying put in New York, where his daily tapings of Harry recently earned him a handful of Daytime Emmy Award nominations earlier this week.
