Watch Cam, Melissa Etheridge Team for Joyful 'Come to My Window'

Country firecracker joins rocker for 'Skyville Live' performance - and a Dolly Parton history lesson

Melissa Etheridge invited Cam to perform the 1994 hit, "Come to My Window," during the latest episode of the 'Skyville Live' web series.

When Melissa Etheridge invited Cam to sing with her Monday night as part of the live-streaming web series, Skyville Live, the soulful rocker explained that she had told the young country artist that she had never sung her 1994 hit, "Come to My Window," with another artist before. But that wasn't quite true.

After introducing Cam to the audience in attendance for the Skyville Live show, Etheridge explained that Cam politely reminded her she had done the song as a duet with Country Music Hall of Famer Dolly Parton, when the pair met for a 2003 episode of CMT Crossroads.

For their own memorable teaming on the Grammy-winning tune, Etheridge played the song's slow-burning introduction, the lyrics of which later serve as the song's pumped-up chorus as the tempo builds. Bouncing beside the singer-guitarist and dressed in a yellow "Girl Power" t-shirt, Cam chimed in on harmonies as the song reached full-throttle, then took the first line of the second verse. As the song hit its dramatic bridge, both singers upped the vocal ante, with Etheridge letting out a celebratory yawp before catching her breath to finish the song.

Monday's Skyville Live, in celebration of Women's History Month, also featured appearances from Lindsay Ell, Orianthi and Troi Irons.
